DTS Products by Application

DTS Mainframes & Turnkey Systems

Complete distributed fiber optic temperature measurement hosts with multi-channel support, built-in web management, and alarm outputs — ready for power cable, tunnel, and pipeline monitoring projects.

Full DTS Integration Modules

All-in-one Raman DTS modules integrating pulsed laser, Raman WDM, dual-channel APD, and 250 MSps acquisition — output Stokes and anti-Stokes data via Gigabit Ethernet UDP. Ideal when you develop your own DTS demodulation software.

DTS Optical Path Modules for OEM

Integrated optical front-end (pulsed laser, Raman WDM, APD) without on-board DAQ — pair with our DTS DAQ card (DTS-ETH-250M-2A) or your own acquisition hardware for custom chassis integration.

Fluorescent Point Temperature Sensors

YB-FFOT fluorescent fiber probes for high-voltage switchgear, transformers, and cable joints — point measurement with EMI immunity. Complements distributed Raman DTS for mixed monitoring projects (not a substitute for km-scale DTS along sensing cable).

How to Choose the Right DTS Hardware

  • Need a complete DTS host for a project? DTS-A mainframe delivers multi-channel monitoring, web UI, alarms, and temperature output without building hardware from scratch.
  • Developing your own DTS software on integrated hardware? GY-DTS-M outputs raw Stokes / anti-Stokes over UDP — focus R&D on demodulation algorithms.
  • Building a custom DTS chassis with your DAQ? GY-DTS-MC provides the optical path only; add DTS-ETH-250M-2A or another high-speed acquisition board.
  • Measuring temperature at specific high-voltage points? YB-FFOT fluorescent probes suit transformers and switchgear — different technology from distributed Raman DTS.
  • Research lab assembling separated optical components? See our DTS Applications guide for pulsed lasers, WDM couplers, and APD modules, plus DTS DAQ cards.

What Are DTS Modules & Systems?

Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) measures temperature continuously along an optical fiber using Raman backscatter — Stokes and anti-Stokes signals vary with local temperature, enabling km-scale monitoring for power cables, pipelines, tunnels, and fire detection. A DTS system requires a pulsed laser, wavelength separation (WDM), sensitive detection (APD), and high-speed data acquisition, plus demodulation software.

YB Photonics DTS products span turnkey mainframes (DTS-A), fully integrated modules (GY-DTS-M with on-board DAQ), optical-path-only modules for OEMs (GY-DTS-MC), and fluorescent point sensors (YB-FFOT) for equipment hot-spot monitoring. Pair optical modules with our fiber sensing DAQ cards and EDFA modules when building long-range DTS links.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between GY-DTS-M and GY-DTS-MC?
GY-DTS-M includes laser, WDM, APD, and a 250 MSps acquisition card with Ethernet UDP output — a complete sensing front-end except demodulation software. GY-DTS-MC integrates only the optical path and analog outputs; you supply your own DAQ such as our DTS-ETH-250M-2A.
Is YB-FFOT the same as distributed Raman DTS?
No. YB-FFOT is a fluorescent point sensor for localized high-voltage temperature measurement. Distributed Raman DTS (DTS-A, GY-DTS-M) profiles temperature along kilometers of sensing fiber — different technology and use case.
Do I need a separate DAQ with GY-DTS-M?
No — GY-DTS-M has an integrated 250 MSps acquisition card. You need demodulation software to convert Stokes / anti-Stokes data to temperature profiles. YB Photonics can provide demo temperature calculation software for evaluation.
Which YB Photonics products pair with a DTS integration module?
For separated research builds, combine pulsed DTS lasers, Raman WDM couplers, and APD receivers listed on our DTS Applications page, with a DTS DAQ card. For fastest integration, choose GY-DTS-M or DTS-A mainframe.
